StarCraft 2 on MacBook Pro 13″ 2010 Edition
Playlist: www.youtube.com This video showcases StarCraft 2 gameplay on the new 2010 MacBook Pro 13″. Here are a few things to note: this is running on Windows 7 under BootCamp. FRAPS is used to record the screen so the framerates is heavily impacted. I would’ve used a digital camera but the quality suffers, so just look at the top left corner of the video and add it to the stated frames per second for the actual FPS. Also, since the framerates is lowered, please understand that the game runs and responds faster than what is shown in the video. The bottomline is this: with the settings shown on the video, the game was playable and still able to have that “eye-candy” look to it. Lowering the graphics settings to medium will give 10-20 more frames. The specs on the MacBook Pro 13″ 2010 Edition are as follows: CPU- Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 @ 2.4GHz GPU- Nvidia GeForce 320M w/ 256MB DDR3 shared memory RAM- 4GB 1066Mhz DDR3 Memory 13.3″ LED Backlit Glossy WideScreen 1280 x 800 Resolution [16:10 aspect ratio] [Added] 750GB Western Digital Scorpio Blue Hard Drive I will record future videos using 720P HD to match the aspect ratio of the iMovie exported file. Starcraft 2 on MacBook Pro 13″ 320M 2010 Edition
This is Starcraft 2 running on my Macbook Pro 13″ with 320M graphics card. The game was running on OSX with 1280 x 800 resolution. The settings were mostly at medium-high and the game ran wonderfully. During gameplay, I saw an average of 15 to 23 FPS. If I had turned down some of the graphical settings, the game would have run even better. Overall, the performance was very smooth and playable. I tried running the game on my external monitor which is at 1080p resolution. The game definitely experienced slowdown at that point and I would need to lower the graphical settings if I wished to pay like that. I mostly just play the game on my MacBook Pro without the external monitor. On a side note, Starcraft 2 is a wonderful game. I never played the first one, but this is definitely my favorite RTS game thus far followed by Warcraft 3. Blizzard really outdid themselves with this game and I believe it lives up to all the hype and expectations. If you haven’t purchased this game yet, I highly recommend it. You can only be fined up to $100 for not completing a census form, NO jail time. If you answer questions untruthfully on a census form you can be fined up to $500, still NO jail time. If you are an EMPLOYEE of the census bureau and you release information on a form then the EMPLOYEE can be fined up to $250000 and/or up to five years in prison. This link provides the details regarding fines and jail time: uscode.house.gov Look under Chapter 7 Offenses and Penalties, subchapter II, Section 221 – Other Persons Unbelievably, a church could be fined up to $10000 for answering falsely on a census form according to Section 224.
