phototrack GPS – Geotagging made easy

March 20th, 2010 Posted in GPS

One of the latest uses of GPS technology is adding that data to your digital photos. Not only can you see where you were ,you can send out a map to get there. Some of the pro digital cameras have the capabilities but this feature is coming on home to the average user. Imagine tracking and mapping you last whirlwind vacation on Google Earth? Pretty cool. Here is one’s companies foray into that world. Look for lots more entries down the road. ( By the way, it is only available for PC as on Nov. 2007. MAC capability should come by Q1 of 2008.)

If you hide this device in your wife’s car…you’ll be able to see where she’s been all day (motel)

Actually u dont need that particular device.. Any GPS unit will do as long as you can download the data to a computer. Currently, Garmin, Magellan seem to be widely supported with emerging GPS/Photo syncing software.
Just rememebr to sync to camera’s clock to the GPS unit.. and away u go!
