How about when you get a call do you get kicked out of the app ? After you end the call does it automatically resume navigation. Or does navigation keep going regardless.

Also can i answer phone calls via bluetooth and still navigate with the app.

Thank you for your time and the great review vid.

  2. Lutherglukie Says:

is it as accurate as like a real GPS unit

  3. drmarkuss1 Says:

Thank you very much, realy not bad, but still missing the vent mount. Please answer to my second question too(about skype and radio)

  4. ShaneXman Says:

No, it comes with 2 mounts. It includes a standard suction cup mount, as well as an adhesive dashboard mount. It does not come with a vent mount, but I thought it was great it came with the 2 it did. Hope this helps. Cheers.

  5. drmarkuss1 Says:

Another question: only one mount? An acceptable car-kit should have window-dashboard and vent mount…

  6. drmarkuss1 Says:

My car has a blutooth handsfree system, but if I make a skype call(via fring) it doesn’t work to transfer the call into the car handsfree system. Does Magelan transfer the voice on skype to the car handsfree or to the car-kit’s speaker? What about radio/music-does it transfer it from the iphone to the car’s sonorization system?

  7. ShaneXman Says:

Yes, the Magellan Car Kit works with the Navigon app. Cheers. :-)

  8. ShaneXman Says:

No, this does not come with a GPS device or app. This is a cradle to hold your iPhone or iPod Touch (the device), and then you can use it with ANY navigation/GPS based app on the app store. This is the case with all physical GPS accessories/devices…they are all sold a la carte. This device packs a lot of features into a convenience cradle for your car, and the bottom line is that you need to purchase an app regardless if you want turn-by-turn directions. I hope this helps. Good luck.

  10. Freodeo Says:

Does this magellan package come with a gps device or app, free with the purchase for use with your iphone? Because I looked up gps apps for the iphone and some of them are 40 to 80 dollars and i dont want to have to buy this and then 60 dollars more for an actual gps app

  11. magellanmobile Says:

Hi there, you can also attach the car kit as a windshield mount.

  12. phototristan Says:

What are my options if I don’t want to permanently attach something to my dash but still use the Magellan car kit?

  13. magellanmobile Says:

@jasonsingleton1992 Yes, it does work in the UK. It will enhance your iphone’s GPS signal almost anywhere in the world.

I do. Most noticeable when going at high speeds and with my air conditioner fan on high. Doing speed limit and lowering your fan speed helps =)

Thank you for the clarification Maggie! :-)

  20. ShaneXman Says:

HMMMmmm, I thought I had answered this one. Guess not. Thanks Maggie! :-)

  21. MaggieMagellanGPS Says:

@qohnn, according to amazon, the ID Casemate dimensions are 0.8 x 4.1 x 6.5 inches, 2.5mm thicker than their Case-Mate’s slim case which fits the Car Kit with some amount of space left

  22. qohnn Says:

@shaneXman, i have the ID case mate protection i was wondering if it would fit on that?

  23. ShaneXman Says:

Perfect. Glad I could help. Thanks.

  24. iseeyourmum Says:

@ShaneXman Oh I get it now! Actually he didn’t lol he said I DON’T need an internet connection to load maps and data. But you’ve cleared it up now anyway! Cheers dude, you’re really helpful :D

  25. ShaneXman Says:

    AuroraCypher,

The Magellan RoadMate app does NOT require an internet connection. This apps information is stored locally on your device, and utilizes the iPhone’s GPS chip to acquire your position or location. I hope this clarifies things for you. Thanks.
