Is Garmin GPS King? – 2008 GPS Navigation Comparison Video
www.edmunds.com You’ve got a busy summer ahead. Before setting out on that road trip out West or back East, you’ll have to find time to download some travel music. (We recommend new releases from Common, My Morning Jacket and Weezer.) After that, we’ve got another assignment for you that promises to make your summer trip easier and may enhance your listening habits, too: Get a portable navigation system. Of course, we wouldn’t dream of leaving you out in the cold on such an important decision, so we’re updating last year’s portable navigation system roundup with four new or newly improved portable systems. Since our last portable navigation review, a few of the units we sampled have changed significantly, plus there are two all-new units that seem promising on paper — the Dash Express and Becker Travel Assistant.

I bought my Garmin C330 in October of 2007 and I have 130,000 miles on it. I love Garmin’s products. Just two things that I would love to see changed: While driving in a tractor trailer, “Truck,” it would have all low clearences marked to avoid. The second: When entering a town/city, it would use the State/US Route designation instead of the city street name. Excellent product, however. I’m sold for life on them.

does it cost extra to use the internet feature with the Dash model? …and I’ve never ever heard of Becker before… actually never heard of Dash either

In my opinion, Garmin is #1. They really hit it off with the etrex series.
Dad just bought a Nuvi 200 today. It’ll be interesting to see how it does.

I have had my garmin nuvi 255w for a month now and really enjoy it. As a first time GPS owner I find that the Garmin is lacking in information concerning operation of the device. You have to go to the site and download a manual. They don’t even give you one with the product.

Garmin is #1 but TOMTOM works well for him
March 14th, 2010 at 8:39 am
I heard of the dash a couple of months before but Garmin is gaining ground. Thanks to msn direct. The traffic is updated more frequently thru the internet. And now u can add waypoints from windows live in the cloud to the garmin. They still lack total internet access tho.

I trust your opinions. It’s just like H Kardon HT amps, the sound is awesome but they get glitchy and things break down, like channels and stuff. I am getting a Garmin 255w (more fool me) I would’ve preferred the Garmin 260w, it is more time-tested and has good reviews, but it wasn’t available here
