I was in the market for a new bag for work. I’ve never bought a lowepro product but their reputation was good, so I thought I’d give it a try.

What a pleasant surprise! Construction is fantastic, heavy material and stitching all around. Black with orange accents, it achieves a nice balance between conservative and trendy.

Also, this product can hold alot of stuff without losing it’s shape too much.

This product also has alot of pockets, although I think that it should have more zippered pockets for loose items (has 3).

I’d recommend this product and definitely buy from Lowepro again.

I got an excellent price for this bag and Beach Camera shipped it promptly. I had several camera bags made by Lowepro before, so I am not at all surprised about the excellent quality of the bag. Here are things worth noticing:

    1. Inside color is orange. Unexpected, but it is fine with me. Some people might not like it however.

    2. Laptop compartment fits my Sony Vaio 15.4″ widescreen snugly. I had to remove the nano mouse adapter to slide it in. Note that the nano mouse adapter is very small. However, a 14″ widescreen slides in easily.

    3. It is bigger than I expected, but again, it is fine.

    4. There are 3 inside pockets for power adaptor and cables, keep them out of the way. There are several pockets under the flaps with velcro flaps to keep things from dropping out.

    5. Shoulder pad is slide along the strap, so it fits nice to the way you carry it.

Overall, I am very happy with the bag. Buy it, if you are looking for a laptop messenger bag. After all, you can’t go wrong with the price.

After reading the reviews of this product, I was worried that I would get a bag that wasn’t capable of carrying my laptop – but the price was too good to pass up, so I thought I’d risk it. When the box got here, I opened it up, and was surprised at how spacious, and well-put together the bag was. I had no problem slipping my laptop – Dell Inspiron 1525, 15.4″ – inside. The fit is a little snug, I’d really only have the slightest trouble pulling it out quickly, if I end up needing to, but I feel secure that my laptop is safe inside of this bag. There’s padding on the back, where it would rest against the body, and the sleeve that the laptop slides into is padded from all sides. There are more pockets than I was led to believe, which is an absolute plus! There are three medium to large sized pockets inside, perfect for, perhaps, hand held systems – like a PSP, or DS. There are also two outside pockets, made for iPods, or cell phones, and a little mesh pocket for whatever smaller items you may need, including three or four slots for pens or pencils. There is also a smaller pocket on the outside flap, for items you may need to access more easily, and don’t have the time to unsnap the clasps.

In addition, there’s a (removable) strap to, I assume, wrap around the body, should you be using this bag while biking, or if you feel the need to have a little more security that it won’t fall. The quality of this bag is excellent, and I’m very surprised and happy about that. I was looking for a bag to take on a cross-country trip, and hadn’t been able to find one yet that could fit everything I need. As well as the laptop sleeve, there’s a great deal of space in the larger pocket, enough for books, the accessories for your laptop, or anything else you may end up needing. It’s a great bag for casual use, as well as hard, everyday use.

It’s absolutely worth it for the price, and I love it already. All I needed was a bag for one trip, but I know I’ll be using this bag very often in the future!

To anyone who’s considering purchasing this bag – go ahead! Make sure you look up the measurements on the Dell Inspiron 1525 – as that is the very limit to what the laptop pocket can accept!

For such a nicely designed bag, it has a light weight and poorly attached carrying handle. I gave this to my son for Christmas this year, and within one week of light use (carried his laptop, notebook and a paperback), one side of the carrying handle ripped off. He can still use it with the shoulder strap, but this kind of workmanship is not up to the multiple other LowePro bags I use primarily for cameras.

    Thumbs down on this one.

  5. Pen Name Says:

Been a long time user of various Lowepro camera bags and quality messenger bags for a long time. Though the bag is cheap at $14, there are a couple of things that can be cause for concern. The shell fabric is far from normal Lowepro quality, feels thin and a bit flimsy. This also applies to the fabric of the interior panels. A wayward pencil jammed here or there would definitely damage it. My second complaint are the straps. They are terribly narrow, even with the padding, they are not that comfortable with any decent load (14inch laptop w/ peripherals) The stabilizing strap is also very narrow and very thin. I wouldn’t trust it to hold the bag steady on a bumpy bike ride. Same with the carry handle, it has a molded rubber grip piece that seems like a caricature of a handle from one of their nicer bags. If you are use to the comfort and confidence of carrying with a real messenger bag, look else where. The overall quality reminded me of a few free bags I’ve gotten from medical and scientific conferences. In the end for the price it’s an OK deal, but definitely not a steal as some of the other reviewers have claimed. You DO get what you paid for.
